I know there’s a lot of plant guys here and all work the gulf coast for the most part. So I’m sure some of you have been here. No word yet on injuries

Felt as far as Lake Charles.

Looked at it on Maps, place looks like a solid 100+ acre butane/LP sphere farm.

Terrible...

Just looked at the Chemical Safety Board csb.gov website for info/alert, nothing yet. However, they do have an investigative team deployed in TX for two fatalities at another site.

Pretty sure they'll be heading your way when they wake.

I’m at the Total plant a few miles away working tonight.

It rattled us pretty good. I’m looking for new underwear as we speak.

I’ve been in a couple explosions, one in Sinclair Wyoming and one at PPG in lake Charles and it is pretty dang scary, but this type of explosion is way beyond what I was in! Had to be a propane storage or butane to cause that explosion! Wondering if it wasn’t a sphere

grew up about a half-mile from that plant as the crow flies...it went up once when i was a kid, too. my dad ran the QC lab at Gulf/Chevron in Orange, and when plants would go up he'd boost me on the roof of the house so i could see which refinery it was.

the next day at school at PNG, we'd guess who was hurt or killed by who was absent knowing where their dad worked.

TPC (f/k/a Neches Butate) is literally across the street on the southside from PNG high school...our school used to have the highest cancer rate of AML, CML and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in the US for that age group due to the butadiene they'd spew.

Just got here, you can see where the shockwave blew doors off their hinges on quite a few homes and businesses.

We're so grateful for our chemical processing and petroleum based economy down here aren't we folks?

So how does this compare to the 1989 Christmas Eve Exxon Refinery Blast?

Thread derailment - why is a judge doing all the stuff a mayor, police chief & fire chief would usually do in a situation like this?

Texas thing?
