Unless something has changed recently, that's not entirely true. If the cadet is on a military scholarship, there is a substantial military service obligation upon graduation.

Many of the corp of cadets members are ROTC. Those do have military service obligations. In fact, i believe A&M commissions more officers every year than anyone outside of the service academies. That said, I believe a majority of the corps are not ROTC, so those members do not have service obligations. I believe members of the band are required to be in the corps. My guess is most of those are not ROTC.

That's his point... The overwhelming majority of Aggie Corps ARE NOT ROTC students... AND this has been true for a long long time - frigging 40 plus years.
