Purpose of CFP is to determine best team. There should be a rule that if a team already lost to a team ahead of them (in particular on their home field) in rankings the loser cannot be selected

So hypothetically
Say LSU had lost to Texas and LSU finishes 12-1 SEC champs and Texas Finished 13-0 Big 12 champs.

In your scenario, LSU is out of the playoff. Does that make sense?

I think Bama should be and will be out unless multiple teams shite the bed the next few weeks. They are positioned to be jumped by any power 5 champ with less than 2 losses.

No. These rules being made up only apply to Bama.

It was hilarious earlier in the week when a poster said:

- You should have to win your conference championship to make the playoffs (covers LSU, eliminates Bama)

- or at least make your conference championship (covers LSU incase they lose, eliminates Bama)

- only other way should be beating enough top 10 teams (covers LSU, eliminates Bama).
