TV networks are for profit businesses, it has nothing to do with privilege they are going to go with a game they think will give them good ratings and be an exciting game. They have to make a call before the season so they have limited information since they can’t possibly know who will be the best teams. They didn’t pick the 2011 LSU-Bama game initially either, but made some concessions with ESPN to move it. Who plays at 730 once a year on CBS is not some special honor to be reserved for the “best” teams, that’s the playoff. It’s not that big a deal and frankly if it’s not an LSU home game I’d rather it be early.

Why the hell would anyone get married on a Saturday night in the Fall unless they scheduled the wedding around the Bye Week.

These are three very attractive options. It's anyone's guess which they will choose. I'm leaning towards Bama/LSU due to the ratings this year.
