Hope and pray was his strategy. He hit the jackpot with Burrow and Brady. Without those gets, he's fired.

Wonder why Miles didn't try something different.

I refuse to believe you are this stupid. Might want to double check, but he did get them. And I blame Orgeron for bringing them in.

And if he didn't go get Brady or Burrow and another team did, those coaches would get credit. O not getting them would just be another knock against him.
Surely you can see the improvement in personnel and LSU's current ranking in recruiting. Is that part of hope and pray? Dude strikes me as smart and determined and hard working.

Anybody who discredits a man for hiring an nfl whiz kid passing game co and convincing a kid born and raised in ohio to come on down to La and compete at LSU for a starting spot has got to be considered a gump and a prolific Debbie downer ,coach O with out question got kinda lucky in a sense and so did LSU that Jimbo Fisher and Tom Herman left em at the alter and I personally damn glad. As far as the hiring if the first OC you better believe that was a stipulation to which he new he had to bend , the administration wanted it the fans wanted it and so he set it to calm the masses and he hired what was believed to be one of the best OC in the damn country who just happened to have alot of 1 year stops.well it wasn't just a coincidence and I'm sure the jet sweep is a great play but you better believe side line to side line your not winning @ Alabama with that most years , and when Coach O took over 3 years ago the offense looked way better than it did when miles left ,the numbers don't lie . The problem was you were working with a limited QB ,I won't mention any names bc I like the kid but there not gonna Joey Burrow to go line up with the recieverd if you wanna make this team , Les miles couldn't recognize a true blue QB recruit if 2 or 3 of them fell out of the rafters in the indoor practice facility with shirts on that said QB! We had to sit and watch a team loaded w/ NFL starters do everything it could to hold Alabama down in 11' and we couldn't cross the 50 yrd line and never not even one time did Les miles think to himself I should out JL out there and you know really if he had issues with JL damn son you got JC ex Georgia gunslinger Z.Met sitting on you bench ! Are you serious ,you couldn't get that dude ready in a year , he came in at mid term, that game was the worse coaching job in the history of college/LSU athletics but if you didn't realize then that this thing was gonna go off the rails sooner or later you were just ignoring some very key indicators and seriously bad traits ,I loved Les miles ,he was great guy and a good football coach but the standard had been set before him , LSU you doesn't or should never accept adequate coaching , were freaking LSU we shouldn't be satisfied with good to adequate, we have been to the mountain top and good won't get you there , you have to have great coaching and I don't really understand some people's opinions on Coach O but from where we were with all that talent and had a head coach who could not bring himself to make changes whether you wanna talk about the quarterbacks the game management the offensive production the scheme, whatever CLM just refused to adapt or wasnt knowledgable enough to make those kinds of wholesale changes and be comfortable in his decision now we got a coach that will throw his manhood on the table and make changes to improve after evaluating the teams performance year to year ,guess what, 3 years and we are back in the natty race and sitting in the #1 position and probable Heisman trophy winner pulling the trigger and you can be a gump or negatiger all you want to but you might as well get ready bc we comin'baw and CEO will be the Head man for the forseable future and man it looks bright , let me go put my costa sunglasses .

I've been a Coach O doubter from the very beginning. But...

You got to give him credit for going out and GETTING these two. You can kinda say this years burrow is a little bit of luck, but Brady was a far fetched plan that he saw something special.

Eta- it's also true that his first two OC situations weren't good....at all

You really don't deserve an intelligent reply as you wouldn't understand one. How do you think you know this?
