re: The problem isn’t that women lack confidence — it’s that men have too much of it

Women are usually way to insecure about themselves to exude any type of confidence

this is just one of those "if something exists that gives a group (esp white males) an advantage, then it is bad" arguments

similar to the "math is racist" bullshite

rational confidence is one of the keys in life. men, women, white, black, brown, etc. instead of demonizing it, we should teach this concept.

also, these articles try to paint with way too broad of a brush. there is a VERY tiny segment of men (and a tinier segment of women) who fall into this irrational confidence mindset. yes within this incredibly small fraction of the population, men have a higher population, but it's still a complete outlier. trying to tailor general societal sex/gender policy based on sex differences in an almost 0 population (statistically) is crazy. if you want to talk about the primary issue/concept (irrational confidence) then fine, but trying to turn that into a discussion on sex/gender roles is crazy talk.

well that's, like, because of the patriarchy and how our society socializes them

Fixed.

Women are like crabs in a bucket when it comes to other women. Anyone who is getting ahead gets torn down by insecurity of other women.

I've had the opposite experience. It's always been the least informed or qualified woman with way too much confidence derailing meetings with bullshite.

Maybe it's just my field, but women I've worked with always seem to overcompensate with what they think is confidence.

in your line of work, does the term xxdrs mean anything to you? if so, a simple "idk what you're talking about man *wink*" will suffice.

You should read her pieces, note the plurality, on how craft breweries are too white and too masculine.

It’s not just women. I’ve seen some extremely under qualified men personify this to a damn t

To get to high levels in professional life, women have to develop thin skin or they'll suffer in silence. Some of that is because of men. Not because men will bully women in the workplace, but because men can talk shite and be aggressive in business with other men and everyone goes home and night and forgets about it.

If a man sends a stern email to a woman in a business transaction, she's more likely to let it bother her for days. Petty stuff just ruminates.

But perhaps the more prevailing reason on why women have to develop hard shells in the professional world is because of other women. A female professional will get shite from her bosses, coworkers and her subordinates. It's awful out there.

Men were genetically made to be the leaders.

Not sure, why looking at any piece of history, is this hard to understand

There's tons of lady leaders in history: Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, others probably, the list goes on.....
