Certainly not an exhaustive list, but in my experience lack of appetite and small lumps. Every few weeks or even every month or two, give your pup a good petting all over to see if you feel any lumps. The ones on my dogs have varied from the size of a BB to the size of a gum ball. If you catch them quickly, many can be removed with a low risk of recurrence and at a reasonable cost.
