the Bulldogs failed to even come close to competing with LSU, losing only two games in that time by single figures.

I know this wasn't what the OP was asking for, but LSU has had Mississippi State's number going back a long, long time.

Losses in 2017 (Eaux), 2014 (Miles), 1999 (Dinardo), 1991 (Curley), 1990 (Archer), one really has to go back to Stovall who went 0fer to start the 80s in 4 straight contests to find any kind of balance between the two schools - and we've been playing them for over 110 years.

The last time they led the series was in 1926 (in Jackson) at the end of a 3-game winning streak - pre-SEC. - at that point the series was LSU 9, MSU 10 with 2 ties. We dominated the series in the 1930s, they did in the 1940s and we split the 1950s.

Beginning with the 1958 season, so 61 years, they've won 5 in a row 1 time (1980-1984), 2 in a row 1 time (1990-1991), and 6 other individual contests for a total of 13. During that same stretch, we've had streaks of 5, 10, 5, 7, 14 and a handful of 2s and 3s.

Remember 1992? A LSU squad led by unlovable loser Curley Hallman that was scrappy, but just found a way to lose games all year (2 points @Auburn, 3 points to Colorado St., 7 points @Florida, 2 points to Kentucky, etc.) Well, that must have been some kind of bad Mississippi State unit to lose to us 24-3 in Tiger Stadium.

Our only other win was 24-12 against Tulane. Almost certainly the worst LSU football team in history - going back to 1936, at least 1 LSU player has been taken in every NFL draft except 1938, 1942 and 1993 (the year after the 2-9 1992 team).

That 1992 team was an Eddie Kennison eligibility ruling away from a 7-4 season.

There was a terrible call in that game that cost us a win...I think it was a MS rb that fumbled inside the 5 that wasn't called

All you need to know about how dominant we’ve been over them is to know that Curley’s record against them was 3-1.

We are currently 9-3 against Auburn in the last 12. That is extremely impressive when you consider some of the great seasons Auburn has had during this time. Ed O is 2-0 against them.
