This is wrong.

As stated, Mandy, his first hit, was written by others (Scott English and Richard Kerr). It was originally called Brandy when English recorded it. It was changed to Mandy at the suggestion of Clive Davis because of the Looking Glass song Brandy (You're A Fine Girl).

Looks Like We Made it was written by Richard Kerr (again) and Will Jennings (Jennings would later co-write My Heart Will Go On). "Somewhere in the Night" was also written by this duo.

Manilow did not write "Can't Smile Without You"

Weekend in New England was written by Randy Edelman (who is also a film composer having written half the score to Last of The Mohicans, as well as Gettysburg, Ghostbusters II and The Mask among others. His wife is Jackie DeShannon who had a hit with "What The World Needs Now" and co-wrote "Bette Davis Eyes". She was also Jimmy Page's girlfriend at one point and likely the inspiration for the song Tangerine on LZ III.- How's that for some facts..)

BTW, "I Write The Songs" was written by Bruce Johnston of The Beach Boys.

Not true.
He also didn't write "Mandy", his fist big hit. Or "Trying to get the Feeling Again". Or "Weekend in New England"... probably some more (I stopped looking after 3 counter examples).

Still an interesting factoid.

ETA: I see 2 others jumped on this before me....
