Could it be that our troops forged battle bonds with the Kurdish forces they fought alongside against ISIS? It's got to be hard to stand on the sidelines and watch them get demolished by the Turks.

Could be.
Just out of curiosity, how long was the “mission” of protecting the Kurds supposed to go on for? How much more money given to them?
