It's not required, you can also go 8' high in Jefferson Parish. As long as the fence is on your property, how can anyone have a problem with it.

If you have no idea what you are talking about (which you don't) then don't post. OP, get the permit, the headaches that can arise from not having one are much greater than the headache of getting one.
