The BCS will give you the BEST 4 teams....the computer can calculate what humans can not.
That is a "propaganda" point used by many
IT IS IN FACT NOT what the NCAA wants or what the polls yield.
They want the best 4 teams while representing the most conferences to maximize viewing audience and revenues.
IMHO, they should use the BCS formula, expand to 6 teams giving #1 and # 2 (based on BCS) not BS
a bye and thus giving meaning to earning status of #1 and #2
You would still likely get representation from various conferences.

You do realize that this year Notre Dame plays Georgia, USC, Stanford, and Michigan. Those last 3 are down this year, but are traditionally top 10-15 teams. This year, ND also plays Virginia and Va Tech (which is bad this year but traditionally very good).
I've never understood the gripe about ND's schedule. It's usually legit.
