The United States and western Europe aren't the problem, and haven't been for almost half a century. Yet no one wants to address the countries that are actually the problem.

We are all part of the problem. Just because there is a bigger problem doesn't mean you can't be a problem. Also, remember that the pollution being created in Asia is largely to produce goods for North America and Europe.

Ok, you got me. I do feel guilty now. Damn northern North Americans are the scourge of the earth!

We could destroy our economy, have zero emissions, and it still would not matter.

We. Are. Not. The. Problem.

Which is why all this climate bullshite centers around one thing, and one thing only: the increase in power and scope of the government. Any response to the contrary is met with calls of "you just don't care about our children's future!!!"

It's a leftist's wet dream.

Does it matter why they’re produced? Just because they ship them off to other countries doesn’t mean they don’t have to clean up after themselves

If we were to put percentages towards shared liability of the problem, then the United States is below 10%.

Largely to produce goods for North America and Europe? Are we forgetting that they have A BILLION of their own people to provide for? I'm not looking at a census chart, but I'd imagine that North America and Europe have maybe a billion combined. And no one in those countries are exclusively using Chinese products.

Additionally, in the World Health Organization's list of the 500 most polluted cities, China had 284 of 500. 284 from one country! That's incredible (obviously India had several and, interestingly, at least to me, as well as Iran.) The US had zero; only a handful of western European countries with cities on the list.

But let's attack those who are trying and ignore those who do nothing; that's definitely how change comes about.

Ummmm, no.

The pollution from India and China largely comes from overpopulation (burning of dung and wood to heat and cook).
