I worked in a chem plant for 44 years. Was on many interview teams. P-tech school, and some mechanical experience was always a plus where I worked, but not really necessary. Although it might be the deciding vote when it comes down to you and someone else getting hired. Since I was on several interview teams, should you be fortunate to get an interview, I have many of the interview questions memorized, which if you know them ahead of time will help you to prepare good answers.
