I was a good sportsman until the 30-17 part. Boy, sit the hell down. You sound like us during Bama week.

3. Your young DBs.
Stingley is the only freshman starter...
CB Fulton: Senior
NB Vincent: Junior
S Stevens: Junior
S Delpit: Junior
S Harris: Junior
Flott, Ward, Jones etc are all backups.

Yes, Stingley is a very good player, but he is a freshman.
He's been with the team since December 2018, not your typical freshman. He came into bowl practices and many said right away he was the best CB on the team in practices back then, that's with 2 bonafide top NFL CB draft picks in Greedy Williams and Kristian Fulton on the team. I really really really hope you try and pick on him.
The only player you should be picking on is Vincent, because Fulton and Stingley will be mostly shutting down whoever they are covering. Vincent covers the slot so Herman will have to be creative with how he can get matchups on Vincent there. Not to say Vincent is bad by any means, he holds his own most of the time, but he isn't on Fulton or Stingley's level.

Instead of responding to all your predictions individually, I’ll just respond with a question about one of them.
Your score prediction of 30 points...
Alabama scored 29 on LSU’s D LAST year.
LSU’s defense has improved this year.
So here’s the question: do you think Texas’ offense is better than Alabama’s?

1) DKR has never been a threat to any opposing team. Especially one that went on the road to Auburn last year and pulled out a clutch victory. We should have won at A&M, and Florida the crowd didn't come into play why we lost.
We usually play unranked opponents in the early to mid afternoon.
DKR has a capacity over 100,000. This is a rare nighttime game for us against a top 10 opponent. It may in fact be a record crowd. It will be loud.

Without Chaisson, and without Devin White for a half I might add

You are smoking some good stuff thinking you will beat us by 13 points. Your defense is terrible and ours is nasty. We win 38 - 13.

So you are saying Tech’s offense is better than LSU’s? Make it stop!

Bookmarked to come back and troll this delusional bullshite. Texas will get rolled and your arse will be heading for the gates at the end of the 3rd quarter.

300 yards on LSU defense ? hahahha . shite will be pushed deeo in UT arse! STTDB!!!!!
Yes. As I said, we will struggle to run. We lack depth and your front 7 is legit. But, your secondary has youth and has been susceptible in the past (Alabama did a number on your secondary last season).
Herman will know where to attack and Ehlinger will be able to do it.

Y'all have two freshman starting on D and 4 starting sophomore DBs. Think your defense is vastly more inexperienced than our one freshman DB

Great point. He’s actually saying that La Tech’s offense is better than LSU’s, AND that Texas’ offense is better than Alabama’s.
Wow. Just...wow.

1. DKR is going to be rocking. Night game against a top 10 opponent at prime time. If this game was in LSU's stadium, I would be much more concerned about our inexperience at certain positions. However, I think our crowd and energy will really rock your team, particularly your younger players like your young cornerbacks.
I'm sure they will be super nervous. I mean it's not like LSU players have ever played in front a big crowd before.
quote:
2. Tom Herman. He's one of the best offensive guys in the game. And yes, Herman is known for having his teams show up in a BIG way for games like this. Simply put, we will not be blown out. Not at home. Herman and Ehlinger are going to dial it up in a big way, and I think you're underestimating Herman's ability to gameplan and to motivate a team.
Meh, he has done fine at Texas but the 2nd tier schools in the big 12 have largely sucked balls since he has been there. Hard to gauge a coach's success when there is only 1-2 schools on the schedule that SHOULD pose a threat.
quote:
3. Your young DBs. Yes, Stingley is a very good player
Stingley is the 2nd best cornerback Texas will see this year. The best? Is on the other side of the field.
quote:
Ehlinger will throw for 300+ on your defense.
If he throws enough times to get to 300 then Texas is getting blown out of the water.
quote:
5. I believe that your new offense is fool's gold. Yes, it looked great this past Saturday. But at the end of the day, it was Georgia Southern. I doubt that after years of not being able to consistently move the ball and throw the ball downfield that your team is suddenly able to do so. If it happens Saturday night, fine, but I don't think it will. Our defense is more stout than you realize.
The offense even during the darkest of days put guys in the NFL. It never has been a talent issue, LSU just always seemed content to lowering its head and forcing a square peg through a round hole. Hell even last year the offense from the 20 to the 20 wasn't bad. Just couldn't figure out how to score TDs instead of field goals. There will probably be hiccups along the way ( it is a new system for them after all ) but for the most part I think you are going to see a huge uptick in production.
quote:
I think your secondary has trouble slowing down Ehlinger and our WRs
There isn't a team in the country that's going to beat LSU by only throwing the ball. If Texas can't run the ball effectively they will get big played to death.

Experienced players (8 returning on D) who are used to playing in large, loud stadiums in front of hostile SEC fans. DKR is nothing special.
Herman is overrated. I’m glad he took the Texas job.
Ehlinger is not throwing for 300 yards. We’ve seen better receiving corps than yours.

That's bold. LSU has some advantages, but coaching isn't one of them. I believe you had blow out losses to Troy and Mississippi State under Orgeron.
Herman is a motivator and a gameplanner. His teams always show up in a big way like this especially when their opponent is formidable and favored.

I commend your confidence, but this is the most talented team (including Oklahoma) that Texas will see all year. I think home field advantage helps early on but LSU leaves with a W. 34-24 Tigers
