Since operators don't have a lot of say over site selection and the like, it can be somewhat luck of the draw and getting a drive through only/mall/etc.
Another thing is that they teach their employees that the focus is on the customer. There are stories of CFA employees helping a customer change a tire. One drive through worker here in the metro Atlanta area actually went out the drive thru window, grabbed his pocket knife and cut a kid out of a seatbelt that was choking him.

When you have a franchise with shitty workers.. And just about every location is shitty, it really isn't the workers as much as it is the franchise.
Chick-fil-a made customer service a priority.
Sort of like how Buc-ces made clean bathrooms a priority.
I did a project in a Sports Marketing class in which I got to talk with the head of marketing for Chick-fil-a, it is pretty impressive what goes into their marketing (which their customer service is part of their imagine.. Marketing). And the value sports is to their marketing.

1) Katrina was no Andrew or Michael, those were legit cat 5's. Fact.
2) CFA is okay if you're stuck in an airport but if I want fast food fried chicken, I'm going to Popeyes over KFC, Canes and CFA. Fact. I don't interact that much with the workers there. "3 piece white spicy" is about it. I'm not some creeper hoping to take a CFA order girl to her prom.
I'm just dropping the truth up in here.
The OT is cranking out 3 new CFA threads per week.
It's like the disproportionate amount of love Buc-ees gets around here or Orange Beach.

No one wants to go work with that.
Chic fi la has bread a culture of hiring white christians.
And like others stated, they were careful with their expanding. There was a time they were just in suburban malls in Georgia. The one by my house was next to the big Baptist Church.

This too, my buddy managed one at the mall in Kennesaw and paid for him to go to KSU. They also brain washed him and he became super religious, going on missions to Africa. Never saw or heard from him again.

Went and grabbed a quick grilled chicken sandwich for lunch today. Interacted with three people: the person who took my order in the line, the one at the end who gave me the receipt, and the one who gave me my food.
All three couldn't have been more nice and pleasant to briefly engage with. A young black male, an older female, and a young female...all extremely friendly.
The line was around the building with a double drive thru. I was probably back on the road in less than 5 minutes.
Just an amazing business model.

About 5 years ago on vacay, our condo was next door to a couple whose wife was a manager at CFA.
We were there the whole week so we bumped into them a lot.
One day I asked her this very question. In a VERY PC way, she explained how selective they are in their hiring process. Not to mention, two crappy instances with a customer will get you booted.
They don't tolerate ignorance, have a great product, and are good people. No wonder the American Left hates them so much.

A girl I was dating when younger got a job there. Those frickers interviewed me, her parents, and had conversations with like four of her fricking teachers. If I remember correctly she had 4 or 5 interviews with them before they hired her. Absolutely crazy for a fast food job.
