Looking to get a new driver.

Ping G410. Club is money!

No certain brand, they all go about the same distance when fit, pick one you like the feel of and look of at address and go. I tried all the new stuff and went back to a 2017 M1 440 because I like the look and feel and don’t hit any of the new stuff any further, 3-5 yards means nothing if I can’t hit the fairway or GIR.

I went to Golftec for my driver fitting. It’s pretty well done over there. I brought my old driver for a baseline and left with a stick that cut my spin rate in half. My only complaint is that you pay the $100 for the fitting, but it’s only an hour and a half session. About an hour in, I was physically burnt and my swing was no longer a true representation. Also, it’s not enough time to truly test all available options. I wish they’d give you two 1 hour long sessions. You could compile more true data that way. But I bought a driver/shaft combo that is far superior for my swing than what I had so all in all it was worth it.

If you don’t mind an hour drive, go hit up Buddha Nguyen at Bebu Golf Studio in Gretna. I think he charges $150, but gives you $50 into the purchase price of the driver or shaft. He’s very thorough, and will frequency match the shaft for you as well for a small fee. I had a great experience there.

Haven't hit much in the current range of stuff. I briefly toyed with the Epic Flash Sub Zero but my Rogue was much better on mishits so the extra distance on pure shots wasn't worth it.

Haven't tried the 410 range. But 400 Max was great.

Haven't hit a Taylormade driver since the 17 M1/2s.

Assume you can't go wrong testing Ping 410, M6, and standard Epic Flash.

Also test the Titleist TS2. I thought the 917s were really good and supposedly TS blows them out of the water.

Mizuno has actually been a sleeper for drivers since the JPX 850 but I i haven't noticed much improvement over it since.

I test that new Honma driver Justin Rose plays at PGA Superstore earlier in the year. I was really impressed with it.

Taylor made M3 for me. I tested every major driver and the M3 had the lowest spin rates for me and my mishits don’t seem to scatter as much as they used to with my old driver.

The correct answer here though is you need to get fitted for your swing, everyone’s performance will differ depending on their swing/club/shaft combination and you need to figure out what works for you

I picked up a ping G400 for around $200, nothing crazy shaft wise but I love the feel of the club and it goes a mile. Just bought it at Edwin Watts, was told that the 410 and 400 are basically the same club and that the only difference is aesthetics.
