Yeah, I noticed that. He is a lot older than that pic.

Also, his head has been waxy bald since at least 1983.

I think you are on to something. Going back to Bo Rein, one of the first acts of every new LSU head football coach has been to announce that Sam Nader will be retained. What does he do, and is there no one else that can do it?

How can anyone say a negative word about Coach Nader? One of the nicest men on this planet.

I think he may be Buckeye Jeaux's inside contact because I think it would take the World's Nicest Man to not immediately throat-punch Buckeye Jeaux.

Met Sam at practice Wed and had a chance to talk to him for a few minutes. During that time people were constantly coming by and asking questions and he never missed a beat. Hell of a nice guy and knew his way around!

Indeed you are correct. We attended Central Jr. High School in Lake Charles together. He was a top student and one of the best athletes. His family moved to the La Grange district and later to Shreveport. I think that he quarterbacked both high school teams to great success. As I recall his father was a Methodist minister.

I have chatted with him a few times in Baton Rouge within the last twenty years. Always a pleasure.

I'll add that he works with a lot of the players who are offered preferred walk-on spots.

I’ve worked with his brother for many years and both are excellent people. If they say something, you can bank on it . Always has a huge smile and a relaxing demeanor. Can’t say enough good things .

I went to those camps too. As a kid I wondered why didn't they call it the Sam Nader Camp instead of the Mike Archer Camp. All Archer did was wonder around aimlessly with his arms folded while Nader ran the camp.

I thought as much, and recall him as recruiting coordinator for quite a while under at least a couple of coaches since.

Sam handles football for the AD.

I have known Sam for 30 years. The nicest kindest person I have ever known.
He handles donors and runs the summer jobs program among other things.
