Are you going in the summer or the winter? If winter, then I recommend a trip to the Ice Hotel. Have a drink at the bar and enjoy the atmosphere for a while.

Also in winter, they usually have a blast for Mardi Gras, which they usually call Winter Carnival. Look at pics of bain de neige if you want to get an idea.
