Ask any lawyer you know or meet, about whether that's a wise approach to take with the police with anything.

And again, do you want to sit down with the police at 1 am and let them dig through your house, regardless of whether you did anything wrong? Maybe you've been drinking, maybe you're having sex with your wife or girlfriend. Or maybe your kids are having a slumber party.
Gunowners get to do all those things too, you know.

Just for fun, let's say one of your guns is getting repaired under warranty and isn't present. You want to have to turn papers over, show them receipts, emails, etc?

This is describing a police state, not a free state. It's not one I would willingly choose to live in.

And if you say "if you didn't do anything wrong, they won't come over"... then why the hell do they need a list of who's got them legally?
