Me and my girlfriend will be going as well we get to Munich on Monday and staying until Friday until we head to Switzerland. I was worried about finding a table in a tent but seems like you just have to be aware and be aggressive and jump on it when a table comes open in a tent ha. I will be rocking a lederhosen as well OP! Very much looking forward to this trip!

Thursday through Saturday evenings its like the student section for big SEC football game at night. Shoulder to shoulder madness with drunks everywhere. Lots of dumb fights, etc. Everyone is there, local celebrities and what not. They won't let you inside the tents unless you have a reservation or its one in one out.

Get there before noon Mon-Wed and you can easily get a table inside and the outside tables have very few people. Night time you have to hustle to find a table inside and the outside is busy with some tents full but you can find spots. If you get there at say 3-4 you can probably find a good spot inside if you work at it and be patient. Walk around and enjoy the boobs err I mean people watching. Go to the less popular tents.

We usually work hard to find a really good spot first, stay there for 2 beers. Then walk around and have a 3rd beer somewhere else. Or grab a beer outside early and fast to get some liquid courage to find a good spot inside somewhere.

ETA: I prob like it too much. I went there on my honeymoon and then returned for our 5 year anniversary. Did other quieter things on the trip certainly.
