Who played at A&M. I honestly believe that you can only do so well as a coach at a school if you went to an opposing university and grew up in a rival state. Think D. Craig when he was here. I know that I could only do so well coaching at Alabama compared to LSU or another school in my home state or a school completely removed from my situation I.E. Michigan or Washington State

this is just silly. Coaches want to succeed and win, wherever they are, regardless of where they grew up or went to school decades ago.

Wrong. You should look up the Auburn-UGA rivalry, for example, particularly Vince Dooley and Pat Dye.
