re: Restaurants charge a fee for credit card use

There was a supreme court case a couple of years ago that was kicked back down to the lower courts who then ruled that states banning convenience fees was unconstitutional. That opened the gate for merchants to charge these fees. In Texas, the law says they have to clearly show a price for cash and a price for CC but probably no one is enforcing that. Also, the fee is not allowed if using debit cards.
