I say this because every person I know who wants to run deer dogs kill everything they see. Most people that use to hunt KNF with dogs would kill any deer that came by them and let other people tag them. Science shows population of dog hunters have decreased and deer have increased over the years.

Correlation does not equal causality. I am certain deer populations would have risen regardless.

Not allowing someone to exercise their right on PUBLIC LAND because it doesn't conform with your ideals is pretty short sighted.

That being said, dog hunters have the reputation they do because there have been and are problems with them not policing their dogs well. But I have no problem with dedicated dog hunting seasons or still hunting seasons.

Many public lands are managed in such a way that one activity is given preference over another during certain periods of time. I hunt in OK and it is common for small game to be closed during archery season and and the first 9 days of deer gun season. Or for all hunting activities outside of draw hunts to be closed during the draw hunts.

But that's up to the USFS and WLF folks to decide how they want to manage the land, population and seasons. It isn't and shouldn't be a public vote.

I never saw dog hunters wanting to ‘kill everything they see’ back when I was a kid. In fact a small deer accidentally getting taken would often cause good natured ribbing. But we did shoot does.

Compare that with now with the very serious, relentless pursuit of rack size by competitive hunters and it makes some sense that people are leaving the sport.

Sounds like a coincidence to me
