tOfficial Tottenham Hotspur 2019/20 Season Thread: Going to Europa!!

Posted on 7/4/19 at 4:58 pm
Final EPL Standings
6th: 59 points and Europa League next season
Latest Result:
Draw, 1-1 @ Crystal Palace
Next Game:
September 12th
Decent finish considering the absolute chaos we had to endure this year with incredible rash of injuries, suspensions, coaching changes, underwhelming transfers, etc

Love the ndombele signing, better hope he doesn’t give you the bakayoko treatment.

Ndombele a beast. He is a very good pickup.

Twitter rumor going around this morning. Even though it would mean 95% chance that Eriksen is gone Ceballos and Ndombele would most certainly soften the blow

Other potential departures: Wanyama, Eriksen, Rose, Trippier, Alderweireld
Some names in the rumor mill:
Dani Olmo (winger, AM): 21 years old, currently with Dinamo Zagreb.
Giovani Lo Celso (CM): 23 years old, currently with Real Betis. Heavily linked since the beginning of the window. May cost as much as Ndombele.
Dani Ceballos (CM): 22 years old, currently with Real Madrid. May be involved in a potential deal for Eriksen?
Ryan Sessegnon (LB, LWB): 19 years old, currently with Fulham. Reportedly been a target for some time.
Nicolo Zaniolo (winger, AM): 20 years old, currently with Roma. May be acquired for Alderweireld + cash.
Also need someone to back up Kane. Best guess for how we end up after this window:
GK: Lloris, Gazzaniga
CB: Vertonghen, Sanchez, Dier, Foyth
RB: Aurier, Walker-Peters
LB: Rose, Davies
CM: Winks, Sissoko, Ceballos, Ndombele, Skipp
AM/winger: Son, Moura, Dele, Sessegnon, Zaniolo, Lamela
ST: Kane, new signing?

Ben Davies and Harry Winks both extend their contracts until 2024.
Both are really useful players (especially Davies) who seem like the type that are great to have around the club. Good bit of business in my book.

Peter Crouch has retired.
He was part of the reason I started watching/following Spurs, so this is a pretty sad day for me.
(Also, if you never listened to his podcast "That Peter Crouch Podcast", you're missing out bigtime. He's got a great sense of humour.)

So many different ways we can go with this lineup. Here’s my uneducated guess as I’m not fully in soccer mode yet
Lloris
Serge - Jan - Toby - Rose
Ndombélé - Winks
Eriksen
Moura - Son
Kane
Sanchez/Wanyama/Sissoko/Dier/Lo Celso/Sessegnon/KWP/Parrott/Davies/Foyth
Not to mention Dele coming back in a month or so. Feel much better about the depth than last year. And as far as RB if Serge is 100% then I feel okay with it. Davies and Foyth are decent depth

Tottenham Hotspur expect Dele Alli to return to action in their North London derby away to Arsenal on Sunday and the England international could be named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for next month’s Euro 2020 qualifiers when it is announced on Thursday.

I’m back boys
Very glad to not have watched 1 second of Spurs in the past week. Yet here I am willingly ready to torture myself bright and early.

God dammit Kane.
I hated Mou at United, but I’m definitely cheering for him with you guys.
