No one is saying Rapinoe should be imprisoned or in any way punished by our government for using her right to speak out. But the rules are different when you are representing the US on the international stage. Rapinoe should have either resigned or been removed from the team.

It is no more appropriate for her to attack Trump than it would be for a member of our military to attack Trump. Representing this country is a privilege, not a right.

Any other country and she would’ve been off the national team immediately. You sure as heck don’t see any members of England attacking the Queen or the Royal Family.
