I’m sure all the NL, no DH guys will be i saying all pitchers should hit any moment.

He wasn’t concentrating on what he was doing. It’s his own fault.

Yeah it was the laziest bunt attempt ever.

Enough of the charade. We should have been living in the world of the universal DH for years now.

Preach. Why the frick would I want to watch a pitcher hit. I get the NL fan argument. I get that strategy is part of the game. However, if that's the case, we shouldn't have a DH at the high school and college level so these guys can someone adequately handle a bat in the bigs. That ship has sailed, time to embrace the DH.

Down with the DH. Make them hit.

I strongly dislike the DH and have always favored the National League for it.
Pitchers should hit.

Agree with this. When did we start using DH's in High School? It used to be that the best pitchers were also the best hitters anyway.
You think Ben Sheets couldn't hit? Hell, I thought Chad Durbin was a better hitter than a pitcher back in High School. Would he have been pressured into specializing already at the high school level?
Kids are specializing too much. I want to see more multi-sport athletes and I want pitchers to hit, dammit.

More players need to have their noses broken for not learning how to bunt

I would agree with this if any team took batting pitchers seriously - that includes the pitchers themselves.
Yeah, sometimes they can hit or bunt RBIs home but most of the time it’s a waste of an AB as the pitcher swings wildly at any ball that comes his way.

Reason 1 of 1,000,000 why the NL needs to embrace the fricking DH. It's loooooooooooooooooooong overdue.

at my high school, we used to DH for the catcher, because he was really damned good behind the plate but couldn't hit to save his life.

I'll never understand the point of the DH. I think a pitcher that can actually hit should command a premium over other pitchers. They're baseball players. What's unreasonable about expecting them to hit a baseball? It should all be part of the equation when evaluating a pitcher. There's too much specialization. If they want the game to be more exciting they should trim the size of the rosters.

He went out tonight with broken nose and threw 7 shut out innings with 10 k's.
And if you watched the video, he half assed the bunt and paid the price of not actually trying to bunt it. It was 100% a half arse bunt attempt.

I never did understand the whole “strategy” argument from the NL and I think it’s bullshite. It takes more strategy for the opposing manager to maneuver around the 9th spot in the AL then it does in the NL where you know you have an automatic out coming up at that spot. It’s less taxing on the bullpen over the long haul of a season and it simplifies the game in the middle innings, which contrary to popular belief, the middle innings are worth just as much as the 8th and 9th. Its also much more challenging to manage against an AL lineup that is deeper due to the DH. DH is typically a solid hitter and stretches the lineup out all the way down because he’s batting middle of the order somewhere.
