Recovery takes awhile. Make sure you go to a go PT once you can begin physical therapy. Also I would do the surgery as soon as possible. I had a horrible experience with it, I managed to get a blood clot 3 weeks in and had to have the cast removed and get on blood thinners and then Had a partial rerupture that set me back quite a bit and swole up the back of my heel like a balloon. It’s still not 100% or even 90% 2 years later but I can play ball again and run. It is a long, monotonous journey with a lot of plateaus that are frustrating. Also, when they say stay off of it, stay off of it. Rent a knee scooter ASAP, screw the crutches. Makes a world of difference getting around.

This x 1000!!! I’m not sure if they made these through my first 2 surgeries, but by the third I saw some guy using one and I was like “WTF, why didn’t I get one of those!!!”
