Thanks man. I was told to try to avoid the cast if I could. My mother in law is one of the top PTs in CT and said I’ve got to do some intense PT.

It is on my driving foot too so how long am I looking for me to be able to drive again?

Ok here we go. I tore both in the past:
Tear 1. 42 years old..complete tear, left leg, about 3" above the heal. Surgery, 2wks in a cast, then 2-4 weeks in a boot, then 6-8 wks pt.
Tear 2. 55 years old..80% tear,,same location ,right leg this time. No surgery, boot for several weeks, with adjustable heal,,did PT at home,,lots of just walking and using bands to stretch it. 90 days all mostly good. 6months running lightly again. Tore both playing Basketball. Good luck.

Right at about two months of no driving due to the cast(s).

Also, as another poster mentioned, get a knee scooter- they are most helpful.
