I would prefer Hal not start, but I guess it’s not terrible to be able to pinch hit him late in the game when the time is right, like when you bunt Reid to move two runners over.

Yes he actually is. Hughes is a pretty big upgrade over Reid at 3B. This isn't a knock on Reid either, because he makes all the routine plays. This isn't something you can look at numbers to measure. Hughes makes plays on balls Reid wouldn't get to.

If Hughes saves a run by defense, picks up a a walk or sac fly as he has done often lately, then he's a starter considering the way the rest of the lineup has been hitting since the sec tourney.

Man, it's not like I know a ton about baseball, but I sure would have a hard time not having Garza second or third
..i mean go duplantis then Smith then Garza... Bat Watson 4th...hes either a pop up or home run lately... Cabrera hasn't showed hes all the way back to his early form

Garza should never bat second in his life. Mainieri is doing it right moving him up to 5th. Garza is WAYYYY too slow to bat second. Third usually goes to your best hitter/RBI producer, so Duplantis fits there. You could flip flop Cabrera and Garza, but that's not a big deal.
