OP.....I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. Our lab mix is dying (liver mass). Right now he seems to act normal but we know in the upcoming weeks and months that could change. I know without a doubt that if we had planned a trip this summer, my husband would have cancelled it or told me to go without him. And I would have totally understood his choice.

I hope your wife isn’t pushing you to put the dog down now so that you can go on the trip. She should understand the situation. Yeah the timing sucks....but that is life. Is there any way a friend of hers could go with her instead? That way she isn’t going by herself with a child.
