ok but is the rap song related to cowboy life?

It is a "rap song" a "nobody" wrote and has gone mega-viral. The lyrics are rather innocuous and the hook and tune are catchy. It went to #1 on the Country charts but was removed for not really fitting the genre. It is breaking all sorts of streaming records and has a video collaboration with Bily Ray Cyrus and a plethora of parody versions (there is a gay one that is hilarious) Youtube gay parody NSFW.

WHy do you still need the D.A.R.E program? Drugs are legal now? What harm is there in kids smoking weed? Cigarette hurts your body but weed is all natural no different then Potpourri.

I didn't say we need a DARE program. Just pointing out how far we've come. Still, your an idiot if you think inhaling any type of smoke is harmless. I'm not against pot being legalized, and honestly think it would have a place in my routine (balanced with my alcoholism). But don't say it's harmless. You come off as ignorant.

a ton of white kids singing all the lyrics to a black rapper’s country song has to be the end of racism right?

honest question...

Can someone explain what I saw on that? Assume I have been in a coma for 15 years, so really dumb it down.

A bunch of kids are going crazy over a song that they like. I don't know what's hard to understand about it.

Rap culture has taken the lead on influencing our youth. Parents don't talk to children, they just play music. Kids talk to each other about the music they here. Then they watch the videos of the songs on their phone (youtube). Very small percentage of kids hang out outside playing football now.

Holy overreaction, Batman.

Damn so you could be writing #1 hits in under an hour and making millions but you just choose not to? You’re so cool and edgy.

I mean, what do you want?

Give me a topic, right now, and I can crank out lyrics for a song. I don’t have a beat in mind or a topic but simple meaningless rhymes are...simple.

You provide a beat you want me to follow and i’ll Have you one before dawn.

Or give me a topic and i’ll Craft a beat in my head and give you lyrics.
I’m simply Saying that the lyricism of Old town road is no great feat.

What do you want? Something about a drug dealing leprechaun? A one eyed Korean pirate from the 40s named Punchy? I’m game

I’ve written dozens upon dozens. I’ve got melodies and rough recordings on all sorts of subject matter.

I just don’t do anything with them or pursue them further. I’m not a musician.

I’m not denigrating the young man who wrote this hit: i’m Just saying it’s pop. It doesn’t have any deeper meaning. It isn’t an intricate work of wordplay. It’s just incredibly catchy and very accessible.

I don’t know that I would have known about a semi-mainstream rap song like that at that age.

I knew all the words to Gangsters Paradise when I was in 3rd grade, I don’t think kids knowing lyrics to a song played every few hours on the radio is that strange
