CBS probably figured that they wanted to avoid giving prime time spots for shutouts if possible

I'd be willing to bet UGA/ND will be on NBC or ABC in primetime.

Lol if CBS picks an OOC game to be the primetime game

It is going to be UGA & ND with the prime time CBS game. Sorry for those of you who don’t understand that ND still has mass appeal across the country. Week 4 of the season and it will pit two top 10 teams. Easy choice for CBS.

How many ND games were in the top 5 most viewed games last year?

Michigan-Notre Dame was No. 8, and Notre Dame-USC was No. 10.
They're the Dallas Cowboys of college football. They have their own national TV network for home games. When they play on the road, ABC/ESPN almost always puts them in a night slot if they have rights to the game. It's incredibly rare for CBS to get rights to a Notre Dame game other than Notre Dame-Navy.
Notre Dame-Georgia will be in that primetime slot on CBS on Sept. 21. Book it.

Why? Top 10 matchup. ND has a big national following and its an interesting matchup that isnt likely to happen again for a long time.
Don’t be surprised if CBS uses the primetime game next year for when Texas comes to BR

What is it with weddings always being scheduled for football Saturdays?

Sounds good to me. I'd rather take that annual arse-whoopin in a day game anyway, probably less people watching us get smoked.

That’s not how this works. They never select a game this far out, they just decide which weekend will be their double header. Nice try though

NOOOO! I was counting on a night game. My son is getting married that day. Might have to make enemies if my future daughter-in-law right away.
WTF kind of man dies this ........ oh I got it one of those huh

CBS DOES NOT DESIRE EITHER SCHOOL BUT FOR DIFFERENT REASONS.
A. CBS IS LIBERAL LEFT. ALABAMA IS TURNING UP THE HEAT ON ABORTION IN GENERAL.
B. LSU IS PATHETIC AS A FOOTBALL POWER. P.A.T.H.E.T.I.C. and when they trot into Austin? LSU's SEASON WILL BE OVER FAST.

Not trying to be a butthole but it's amazing to me that in 2019 people still don't understand the BASIC, elementary way that conferences and TV stations are involved. This game is at an SEC home stadium, therefore it can only be televised on CBS, the ESPN family, or SECN. Period, final, end of story. It is *LITERALLY* impossible for NBC or ABC to air that game.
