How dare he interrupt these economic victims.

I would assume most people would agree that a poll tax is unconstitutional and morally wrong. Yet, a huge number of people have no problem with requirement a government license and fee to own a gun. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Democrats claim having to procure an absolutely free ID card to vote is unreasonable yet a $200 gun permit does not infringe upon ones 2nd amendment rights in their eyes.

Or use the legal system to change those laws. Heller ring a bell?

There should be no permit required for simple possession within the home, clearly Heller established that as a right. Seems NY state is setting itself for another legal challenge here.

But, the same governor, the same two idiot senators and the same misrepresentation in Congress. New York is a cut above California but not by much.

Edit: A few years back, one of the papers from a NE state published all home owners with a registered gun. I would use this as part of my defense, as it opens them up to privacy intrusion. also, the standard, "shall not be infringed" 2nd amendment fight.
You can kill a baby due to the mythical Constitutional “right to privacy” but you can’t keep your ownership from public (and government) view.

Something is very wrong here.

So what was the problem with the gun? If it was truly owned illegally that’s his fault right? Yea people have the right to bear arms but they still have to get them legally. I’m assuming that can’t be all there is to the story. Was the gun actually bought legally but it wasn’t legal in New York for some reason?

I don't care if he was a felon in possession,he was 100% right in his actions to protect himself and his property. These licenses are nothing but money grabbing BS. No matter what the circumstances are, you have a right to protect yourself. frick anyone that thinks otherwise.

And if anyone asks if I'm in favor of arming felons, the answer is a resounding YES!! If they aren’t behind bars they should be able to arm themselves. If they are considered too dangerous to be around firearms, keep them locked up. 2nd Amendment shall not be infringed.

What I’m asking is what was the violation though? If it was simply not having it registered I 100% agree with you. However, if the gun was obtained through illegal means (black market, buying from a friend etc.) I do think that’s a problem. I support the second amendment but there are some people that just aren’t fit to own guns which is why background checks are necessary. Sounds like there is more to this story anyway though

Clearly ridiculous, but if you choose to live in New York then you are asking for something like this to happen to you.
