Pretty much what I did, not sure how it affects tracking but I find the method offers a much smoother experience.
Buy tv: put it online to update firmware
Take tv offline: use Nvidia shield box on every tv
Keeps each interface and menu operating the same plus it's much faster and stable than what any of the TV's offer.

I was looking at the tcl 6 series because it already has a Roku built in but it looks like an adware infested version.
