yeah it's impossible to avoid it unless you go off the grid, basically. at least with a TV it's in a centralized location

it's not like streaming apps you'd use on the "smart" part don't already track your viewing anyway (i mean if you just use them through another device). this is just one more company that gets to view the data. i guess it's a form of democratization, if you will.
