I don't disagree at some level though I would say the hillbilly culture aligns much more with Southern culture and there aren't many bastions of true Southern culture save Charleston and Savannah. You see more of the non-elitist Southern culture when you get into the foothills.

The issue with Southern or any other culture is with the modern mobility of people most cultures that exist in places that are enjoyable to live in have been watered down.

My family has a house on Lake Summit and it is simply idyllic. Many of the houses there have been held for multiple generations.
