"That's right — despite another loss to Alabama this season, the Tigers will be in the College Football Playoff conversation coming down the stretch. Let's say LSU beats Texas on the road in Week 2. That's a win that will hold water late in the year as long as the Longhorns don't flatline in the Big 12. There are other obstacles to conquer pre-Bama (Florida, at Mississippi State, Auburn) but those are all winnable games for the Tigers and there's a good chance they'll be favored in each. Exiting the rivalry showdown vs. the Crimson Tide at 8-1 means an 11-1 finish with wins over Ole Miss, Arkansas and Texas A&M could equal an at-large berth."
