I think it's not over the top. Their schedule is tight as frick. The troopers are not there b/c someone wants to hurt him.

And before anyone asks like them rednecks on Livingston Parish's Facebook Page, American Idol is paying for EVERYTHING. No taxpayer dollars are being used for the police, etc.
The show's ratings are through the roof this year.
And it's Final 3 kids so they spend big $$ for filler stuff like these home-town parades and shite.
