It involves parity, fair scheduling, and the best way in all of sports of determining a legitimate champion, so I can definitely see why a Bama fan would hate it.

They used to do that.
Once you get to double digit replays it gets stupid.
And being that teams are in up to 4 different competitions at a single time, you cant just keep adding games indefinitely.
