I did it with my 6s. I know it’s not iPhone X but I would assume the x has more to worry about. I’m pretty handy but it ended up being a bit of a pain and there are small sensitive parts that are easy to damage and hard to get back into place because they are so small. Ended up messing up proximity sensor even after having to go back in with new part because I damaged the original camera strip getting it out. My advice is to get someone that does it all the time and would be responsible for the small parts to do it. If they break something coming out they will have to change it for you.
