it was hard to tell without proper angle but the arguement was that the pitcher's left foot(its a freeze move, illegal btw) popped up then he picked quickly to first(if ur not watching it you wont see it but if a base runner is locked in he can pick it up) ....it was balk moves 101...if ur focused in, you see it and get back on the bag....smith fricked up imo because for him to get burned that bad ,he wasnt focused in fully

Caught for a left handed pitcher in high school that had best pick off motion I’ve ever seen. Would pick his right leg straight up and just pause in that position without leaning toward 1st or home. He could go either direction without a change in motion. Picked off many a runners and held others so close that there were very few steal attempts.

Actually, it was clearly obvious live with the normal center field view.

The front leg moved before the back leg. That’s a balk all day long.

Smith didn’t frick up. It was an illegal pickoff move.

That’s like saying the saints WR fricked up because he didn’t make the catch on an obvious PI call that was blown.

You are possibly the worst poster ever.

The pitcher made a move to go home...his left knee knee went forward as he picked his foot up as his first move. He must. go home then. The reason Smith did not move is BECAUSE he saw the balk. He KNEW it was a balk immediately. He was froze because the pitcher CAN NOT do that.

He was beginning his secondary based on that move. He knew he was to be awarded the base because he was focused fully.

I can promise you this, you did not see it live as no one did. Josh Smith did.

The umpire sure as shite did not, that is the only focus problem we have on this particular play.

God your shite is stale.

A lot of pitchers use this move. We even did it in high school because umpires are mainly looking at the shoulders of the pitcher. It’s not anything on Smith. So you saying he’s not paying attention.... you really are showing how much of an idiot you are. Because as a base runner you are watching the heels of the pitcher... specifically the right heel. When a pitcher picks up his left foot he has to go home in the scenario that played out last night. So anyone would have gotten picked off. It’s a hard move to catch unless your focusing on it as an umpire.
