Am I missing something? Is the league's own NFL.com website erroneous in listing the particulars of this trade? We give 62, 202, and next year's second for 48 and 116?
The "cost" was next year's second round pick. The "gain" was moving one pick up 14 spots and a second pick up 86 spots in this year's draft. Whether you think moving the two picks up this number of spots was or wasn't worth next year's second can certainly be argued...but that's the actual "value" each team gave in the trade. Saints gave up next year's two; Dolphins gave up a total of 100 draft order spots over two picks.
