Actually, it’s just the opposite. The first statement is more accurate and less misleading. It more clearly states what actually happened. The second statement is more ambiguous.

The Saints lost multiple picks and received fewer picks in return. Stop trying to hide that and make it sound better.

Do you understand Economics? The opportunity cost of the Saints drafting McCoy is the multiple players that could have been drafted if the picks had not been traded away.

I'm having trouble following this argument here. We got picks 48 and 116 in return for picks 62 and 202, plus our second round pick next year. Seems like the most accurate way to describe the deal is that we gave up next year's second in order to move one pick up 14 spots and a second pick up 86 spots.

Absolutely right, they didn't give up one pick, they gave up two. We gave up the pick that was used on Andy Isabella, and it also took away whatever player will be used in next years draft

Andy Isabella + 2020 Second Round Draft Pick= 2 picks total

This isnt economics, and you cant look at it through those lenses. This is football. Football has accepted lingo, which is not applicable to your economic terms.
