You need to do what is called a "soft Seine" to your pond. It is probably the most effective way to determine the overall health of the pond. Seine one corner slowly..when you examine the species in the net there should be equal numbers of small bass to larger bass, and larger Bream to smaller bream. If there are no larger fish it is overpopulated, if no smaller fish, it is either understocked or something like a flood, disease, or spring overturn happened, etc
