We all watched 1000 firefighters rush into two sky scrapers that had just been struck be two airplanes that were infernos.
There's no excuse for this weak of a response.

It's the French we are talking about. This is exactly what I expected. I even said to my wife when the story first broke, the French will not extinguish this fire. I knew they'd spend more time grabbing each others dicks and fighting amongst themselves as it burned than actually coming up with a plan to save as much as possible.
