The police almost anywhere you go have no desire to add this to their long list of task.
Taking away peoples guns legally or not is a dangerous damn job.

Seriously.
Imagine your Lieutenant tells you that today you're going to go collect the firearms from someone was deemed "a risk to themselves or others"
frick that noise, I'm sick that day.
Now I know everyone is thinking these orders won't be enforced by a loan officer or two, but rather by an entire swat team...except until the sheer number of these things overwhelms their system to the point that the only possible way to enforce them is to send out a single unit. I predict that eventually will lead to some cops getting shot.
