Any gunsmiths? A-5 problem

I have a browning a5 I bought new in ‘94 I believe. Anyway it will not fire pointing down only up. Before I bring it to a gunsmith, I wanted to see if anyone knew what the problem could be. It may be a simple fix. Thanks.

Hmmm. That second link you sent may be the ticket. I’m gonna check that out. You would think if the firing pin was broke it wouldn’t fire at all.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Broken or missing firing pin spring. When pointing the gun down, the pin slides forward, and the hammer does not make contact with the pin.

I thought this would be about the VLTOR A5 stock.

if youre comfortable taking the bolt complete apart and know what youre looking at you may can determine yourself whats wrong. however if not then no matter how simple the problem is you should take it to a gunsmith.
