So according to the administration, the coach on wiretap simply needs to deny wrongdoing, but the player mentioned in one little snippet needs a full anal probe and denying it isn’t good enough?

There is no evidence that Smart ever knew about the offer. All they have is the word of him, his mother, his AAU coach, and one other person.
They have Wade on tape discussing payments for Smart.
There is a very obvious difference between the 2.
