That would create a never ending loop, would it not?

I don't see the problem here. Create a robot to own all your worker robots.

I’m getting to the point that I almost want these idiots to get their way for one election cycle just to permanently end the illusion that they won’t be a complete disaster.

Let them have their way for one cycle and they’d never win another election for generations.

Other machines (which make labor less necessary) create a tax credit through depreciation, but the more efficient machines should be taxed?

That will make us really competitive with China, the EU and Japan.

Didn't Pelosi say the same thing about health care?

Lol, we are wage slaves?
You get paid what you agree to be paid dumbass. No one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to take a job at a low pay rate. You and everyone else agrees to a level of pay.

What's a robot?

Is a machine a few inches large a robot?

Is a script a robot? Is code?

How is a stolen job defined?

This woman is monumentally stupid and has the naivety of a newborn. AND she's arrogant as hell for someone who post-undergrad hasn't managed any better than as a bartender.

If we are going to tax robots, do we not also have to allow the to run for office? Otherwise, that's taxation without representation, is it not?

Thank you for this nuance-filled take. Really thought-provoking stuff.

I mean it’s pretty simple, hopefully not much “thought process” is needed to comprehend this simple concept.

What this idiot doesn't realize is anyone's job that is replaced by automation is not studying art, or the "sciences"

Your post reeks of jealousy towards these trillionaires. With a little gumption and drive you too could be one of them, but you sound like a wimp with a Liberal Arts degree.

Smoking pot and playing video games is neither worthwhile nor creative, libs. It's just self-indulgence.

Society already has a problem with this. Ask most millennials and/or unemployed people.

She says a lot of ridiculous shite, but when talking about massive automation in the future this isn’t out of bounds. In fact, this is a fairly well discussed idea - what happens when robots replace human capital and the world economy is a few trillionaires and a bunch of jobless folks?

This never stops being a stupid belief

sheesh

He didn’t express a belief. He asked a question.

What belief do you think is stupid?

As far as automation, it’s a foregone conclusion, as long as companies are profit-seeking, that workers will be replaced by machinery as soon as possible.

Is it your opinion that this can go on forever and that it’s “stupid” to worry about a historically low workforce participation rate despite a still growing GDP?

I agree people need to work, and I would bet I go further than most here in my beliefs on that. That’s why I’m worried about this.
